PCA Pacific Northwest Driver Education
Bring your car to the track for a fun and memorable experience while developing advanced car control skills in a structured, non‑competitive environment. Drivers of all car manufacturers are welcome. In‑car instruction is provided for drivers who are not approved for solo driving, and solo‑approved drivers may request an instructor based on availability. PCA membership is not required to participate.
Registration Details
- Registration opens April 20, 2026 at 8:00 am and closes June 11, 2026 at 11:59 pm.
- All participants are initially placed on a waitlist, with confirmation and payment processed 30 days prior to the event.
Fees
- All‑day participation: $395
- One‑time helmet rental: $30

Event requirements
MotorsportReg Account
- Each participant must create an account at MotorsportReg.com.
- Update your personal information and provide VINs for all vehicles you plan to bring.
- Participants must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid, non-restricted driver’s license, which will be checked at event check-in.
- Up to two drivers may share a car, but each must register separately, pay the full fee, and participate in different run groups.
Technical Inspection
- Submit a Pre-Event Tech Form within 30 days before each event.
- The tech team will provide instructions 30 days prior to the event.
- You may have a certified mechanic complete the form, or do it yourself if qualified.
- If sharing a car, both drivers must submit separate tech forms.
- All cars must be inspected before every event, regardless of previous submissions.
- Periodic professional inspections are highly recommended.
HANS and Helmets
- Drivers and passengers in cars with harnesses must use an approved Head And Neck Restraint System (HANS). See https://www.pca.org/ for details.
- Helmets must be 2015 or newer and rated Snell SA or SAH, FIA, SFI 31.1, or BS6658-85 Type A/FR.
- Limited rental helmets are available by advance reservation.
- Starting July 1, 2026, only helmets from 2020 or newer will be accepted.
Turn Signals
- Vehicles must have independently operating turn signals, or drivers must be able to signal with a fully extended arm out the driver’s side window.
Convertible Requirements
- Convertibles without manufacturer-provided rollover protection must have additional rollover protection installed.
996/997 GT2, GT3, Turbo, and Cup Car Coolant Fitting Requirements
- Certain Porsche models with ‘Mezger’ dry sump engines have epoxied coolant fittings prone to failure.
- Proof of welded or pinned coolant pipe fittings is required, and an invoice must be submitted and kept on file with PNWR.
- 997.2 Turbo models (2010–2013) are exempt.
- If you are unsure about your car’s fittings or lack records, referrals to local shops for inspection are available.
Payment and Confirmation
- Online payment is mandatory, but your card will not be charged until registration is confirmed.
- You can check your registration status and assigned car number at MotorsportReg.com.
- Upon registration, you’ll be listed as “Waitlisted” until your request is processed.
Event Details
- The week before the event, you’ll receive an email with links to track instructions, maps, schedules, and instructor assignments. This email comes from MotorsportReg, so check your junk mail folder.
Schedule Overview
- 7:00 AM: Gates open; tech inspection and registration begin
- 8:10 AM: Mandatory drivers meeting
- 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM: Track hot, with a one-hour lunch break at noon
