PCA-SDR --- Gravel Road --- Driving Tour
Have you ever wanted to drive your Porsche on a very twisty, hilly, dirt and gravel road through the mountains outside of the Ramona/Julian area of San Diego?
Have you built a "safari 911" or own a 911 Dakar but it's sitting in your garage nice and shiny, and has not yet touched the dirt?
Have you wanted to activate the Gravel mode of your Taycan Cross Tourismo?
Or you just want to see what it's like to drive on a low grip surface in your Porsche?
Then this special driving tour is for you!
Event requirements
WHO is this event for?
This event is limited to Porsches only - but not just Porsche SUVs! Any Porsche may attend that wants to brave a fun mountain dirt road with some amazing back country scenery. This is not a usual off-road tour where you need an SUV with all wheel drive - this is a graded and maintained dirt/gravel road that is just over 11 miles long and will be run as a back and forth loop for over 20 miles of driving fun.
Primarily for safety reasons, FRS Radios will be needed for all vehicles. Any "Long Range FRS radio" will work, so order now and bring your own radio.
The number of registrants is limited, so register early. And if you signed up but realize you cannot attend, please be considerate to your fellow club members and go back to the signup and cancel your registration to let someone else attend.
This is a special kind of PCA SDR event since the whole family can come along for the drive. While the driving is fun, the scenery is spectacular as well - especially this time of year when the wild flowers are blooming and there is so much greenery. All adults in a vehicle will need to sign the paper waiver at the drivers meeting held at the start of the event. Please note, only the main registrant needs to register for the event, but everyone needs to sign the waiver the morning of the event.
If minors will be attending the event, which they are absolutely encouraged to do, a Waiver for Minors must be signed by both parents at the event. This is not option, but required. If only one parent will be actually attending the event, download the waiver PDF, print it IN COLOR, and have both parents sign the waiver, and bring it to be turned in at the morning tour briefing. If you do not exactly follow that requirement and you bring a minor along without a properly executed form, unfortunately you will not be able to participate in the event, as PCA requires that both parents sign the waiver for any minors in attendance.
